About this opportunity

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council's annual arts grants cover musicians alongside every other art form, through several strands. If you're an individual artist, Professional Development grants support your own growth; Arts Activity, Project, Event or Collaboration grants fund gigs, festivals and projects happening in the county sometime across 2027. If you play in a choir, vocal ensemble or musical theatre group run on a voluntary basis, the new Amateur and Voluntary Performing Arts strand is for groups with at least 11 active adult members. There are also strands for community groups and for artists working with older people or with disabled people and groups.

The council doesn't publish a fixed grant ceiling for 2027; in recent years individual awards have ranged roughly from €300 to €5,000, though that's history rather than a promise, and tax clearance is required for any request over €10,000.

Applications go through the Submit online portal, which needs a profile set up in advance; in-person and online briefing sessions run in early October to walk through the process. The window opens September 25, 2026 at 10am and closes October 23, 2026 at 1pm.

The council doesn't publish how its panel weighs applications against each other, so it's worth assuming artistic quality, feasibility and relevance to the strand you're applying under all carry weight.
