About this opportunity
This is money for Dutch promoters, not for touring acts. The applicant has to be a legal entity established in the Netherlands, specifically a venue or a festival, so if you are an international band hoping to play there, this is a scheme you raise with the promoter booking you rather than one you apply to yourself.
What it pays for is programming foreign performances and concerts that Dutch audiences rarely get to see and that add something real to what is already on offer. There is also a strand within the Kingdom itself: venues in the European Netherlands programming acts based in Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Saba or Sint Eustatius, and organisations on those islands programming acts from the European Netherlands.
The award is calculated from travel and transport costs for the concerts concerned. No ceiling is published. A pot of EUR 267,500 per round is shared between this scheme, the outbound Dutch presentations abroad scheme and international co-productions, so the three compete for the same money.
Four rounds run each year. Applications go through the fund online portal, and setting up an account takes about two working days, so leave time. Organisations applying to the internationalisation scheme for the first time can email a draft to the team up to three weeks before the deadline and have it read. Only complete, on-time applications are considered, and the guidelines and the legal text of the scheme are published in Dutch only.
Assessors look at artistic quality, entrepreneurship, contribution to Dutch international cultural policy, and how far the booking broadens the range of work available in the Netherlands. Of the 33 applications handled in 2025, 60 percent were funded.
