Music Gateway — Breakout Artist Programme 2027

This award backs one independent artist from the UK or Ireland with a year of promotion rather than a cheque. The prize is a £20,000 Music Promotion Fund, paid out as four quarterly allocations of up to £5,000 through 2027 — it can't be cashed out or transferred, and every pound has to go toward Music Gateway's own services: Spotify playlisting pitches, digital advertising, social and TikTok creator campaigns, press, and radio promotion.

To enter you need to be 18 or over, based in the UK or Ireland, actively releasing music with a plan for 2027, and own or control the rights to what you submit — only original work counts, no AI-generated material. Signed and unsigned artists can both apply, and groups just need one point of contact; there's no entry fee, and only one application per artist.

Applying means filling in Music Gateway's own form and linking a working Spotify artist profile before the deadline. Judges look at your whole catalogue rather than a single song, weighing the quality of the music itself alongside commercial potential, how release-ready you are, your release strategy, professionalism, and audience growth. Shortlisted artists are asked for a short introductory video before the winner is announced in January 2027.
