FACTOR Juried Sound Recording: Album

This is FACTOR's main route to getting a full-length record made. It funds the production of an original album first, as a standalone sound recording; once the record is finished you can come back for the release activity around it — marketing, radio marketing, video, showcases and tour support — as separate components of the same project.

Support is a reimbursement of 50% of eligible expenses, to a maximum of $65,000 CAD across the project's eighteen-month term. That structure matters: you spend, you claim, and you need the other half from somewhere. Eligible applicants are artists with a General or Artist 2 rating and record labels rated 2 or 3, which means you need a rated Artist Profile and Applicant Profile in FACTOR's system before you can open the form at all — worth starting well ahead of the deadline.

The application asks for the album title and number of songs, genre, first and last song release dates, an artist bio, a sound recording budget and your total request, plus a detailed marketing plan for the record. You also submit MP3 demos of two tracks you intend to record, with lyrics where relevant.

It is a juried program, so those two demos carry real weight alongside the plan. Applications for this round could be created from 23 July 2026, and close at 5:00pm ET on 10 September 2026.
