About this opportunity
GYMC is a fully online classical music competition open to performers of any age or nationality — soloists, vocalists, composers and chamber ensembles are all eligible, and the organisers don't publish any instrument restrictions. The appeal isn't a straightforward cash prize so much as exposure: besides a guaranteed prize for every musician who reaches the final, the competition offers winners concerts, promotional interviews, and a chance to present themselves to a wider musical community, run in partnership with the Universal Maestro Society.
Entering costs nothing for the Preliminary Round. You record a performance, upload it to YouTube or a similar platform, and submit the link with your application form by November 20, 2026. Preliminary judging runs November 21–23, with results emailed on November 24. Musicians who advance then apply separately for the Final Round between November 24 and 28 — GYMC doesn't say on its main page whether a fee applies at that stage, so check the rules page before committing. The Final Round itself runs November 29 to December 4, with results announced December 5. GYMC doesn't publish what its judges weigh in scoring performances, so there's no rubric to prepare against beyond playing well.
