About this opportunity

Italy's Ministry of Culture runs an annual pot for projects that promote and develop jazz. The 2027 round funds work such as bringing on emerging talent and youth jazz orchestras, research and experimentation including commissioning new pieces, professional development and artistic residencies, educational projects and prizes within music schools, and internationalising Italian jazz. Projects are expected to connect with a place — local communities, schools, conservatories, small towns — rather than exist in isolation.

Applicants are territorial authorities and private non-profit organisations, not individual musicians or commercial companies. Each applicant must already have a signed collaboration agreement with one or more non-profits, schools or conservatories active in its area at the moment of applying, and each body may join only one such agreement across the whole call, whether as lead or as partner. Failing that rule means exclusion.

Individual projects can receive up to €35,000. Funded activity has to be completed by 31 December 2027.

Applications go through the Ministry's DOS-Cultura platform using its templates only, digitally signed by the organisation's legal representative, by 4:00pm on 10 September 2026. You will need a certified PEC email address and a digital signature kit, both of which take time to obtain. The call, the forms and the platform are all in Italian.

The published notice sets out the eligible aims and the collaboration requirement but does not spell out a scoring rubric; the decree itself carries that detail.
