Money towards actually releasing a record. Koda Kultur's release pool covers the cost of getting new music out — recording, mixing and mastering for digital, vinyl or CD releases, plus musician fees, producer, studio hire and physical manufacturing. It funds the applicant's own works, and as a rule works that have not been released before.

You have to be a Koda member. The release cannot already have come out before the deadline, you can only be funded once for a given release, and you cannot have had support for the same release through Musikforlæggerne or from another Koda Kultur pool. A manager may submit at most ten applications per round.

Grants normally fall between DKK 10,000 and DKK 50,000 and are paid as an underskudsgaranti, a deficit guarantee: the money is released only once you send accounts of what you spent, proof the release is publicly available, and evidence you credited Koda Kultur — within twelve months of the award.

The application wants a short project description, at least two MP3s in priority order with one of recent date, lyrics or a score where those carry the work, a budget, a timeline, and a signed power of attorney if you are applying on someone else's behalf. The release must be realistic: studio time or a label agreement should already be in place. A three-person committee decides. Answers take about three months, and rejections come without individual reasons.
