Wyoming Arts Council — Professional Development/Career Advancement Grant
Offered by Wyoming Arts Council
Who can apply
Individual artists aged 18+ who live in Wyoming and are not enrolled full-time in an arts degree programme. One grant per artist every other fiscal year; apply at least six weeks before the project starts.
About this opportunity
This grant exists to move a Wyoming creative career forward in some concrete, fundable way, rather than to pay for finished artwork itself: things like a new website, recording or performance equipment, liability insurance for a project, conference or workshop fees, consultant time, or marketing materials, each capped at $1,000 per award. Individual applicants need to have lived in Wyoming as their main home for at least ten months of the year, be 18 or older, and not be a full-time student in an art-related degree programme; nonprofits and government organisations can apply too. An individual can only receive one of these awards every other fiscal year, there''s no cash match required, though any in-kind support has to be reported afterward, and anyone turned down has to wait until the next fiscal year to try again. You apply through the Council''s online Foundant portal at least six weeks before your project is due to start, choosing from three yearly application windows that each line up with a different project start period. A panel of outside reviewers scores every application against published criteria, and the Council funds everything that clears the bar rather than ranking a fixed number of winners, so there''s no guessing how many others you''re up against, only whether your own proposal is strong enough. A final report is due 60 days after your project ends.
