About this opportunity
A small district council fund with a clear priority: arts and culture activity in the Stroud district, focused on supporting future generations. Grants go up to 2,000 pounds.
Eligibility is deliberately wide at the individual end. Early career artists, students, and arts, culture and community organisations and charities based in the district can all apply, provided you are 18 or over. Groups may apply but must nominate one lead applicant. Projects must take place within the Stroud district, and where young people are involved the council may ask for a valid DBS certificate or a safeguarding policy. For-profit organisations cannot apply.
Your project must meet at least one of the council's Cultural Strategy themes: future generations; communicating, connecting and collaborating; creativity, climate and nature; economy and regeneration; communities and wellbeing; or heritage and plans.
Applications are accepted at any time but are considered at the next Grants Panel meeting after the relevant round deadline. The 2026 rounds closed on 2 March and 1 June; the final round closes on 25 September, with its panel meeting on 16 October.
You can apply online, print and post the form, or apply over the phone with support from the council's culture team. Successful applicants must report back on the project's results and follow the council's branding and publicity guidance. It is competitive — applying does not guarantee funding.
