Musikk – andre musikkprosjekter og -virksomheter

This is Norway's catch-all music scheme, for work that doesn't fit any of Kulturrådet's other music programmes. That means artistic experimentation, pilot and preliminary projects, seminars, talks and skills initiatives, workshops, cross-artform collaborations, projects where children and young people make music on their own terms, editions of scores made available for performance, non-fiction books about music with a print-ready manuscript, and preserving and presenting Norway's musical heritage.

From the 15 September 2026 deadline there is also new money here for indigenous and national-minority music — Sámi, Jewish, Roma, Kven and Norwegian-Finnish, Forest Finn and Romani communities — covering new projects, new ventures and the development of existing ones. It runs into 2027 and uses the ordinary application form.

Anyone can apply, from individuals to institutions and organisations, but the activity must involve professional artists or professional presenters. Composition, concerts, touring and recording all belong to other Kulturrådet schemes and will be refused here, as will equipment purchases, study trips, training, and setting up labels, studios or other industry companies.

Applications go through the portal by 13:00 on the deadline, with a project description, locations, participants, a schedule and a budget; attach audio where music carries the project. The committee weighs artistic content, relevance to the scheme's purpose, and whether the budget is realistic, and looks at whether contributors are paid at recommended rates. Kulturrådet never fully funds. The site and forms are in Norwegian.
