About this opportunity

A €5,000 grant for self-releasing artists in France — and one that arrives after the record is out rather than helping you make it. It covers musiques actuelles broadly: chanson, rock, jazz, world and traditional music, electronic, soul and funk, urban music, rap, and music for young audiences.

You apply as the author-composer whose repertoire makes up most of the recording, and you stand as guarantor for your co-writers' agreement. It must be your first, second or third self-produced release, and it must be finished: at least five tracks, fully released. Digital, physical or both qualify; a physical-only release needs at least 250 copies pressed for sale. Eligible costs now explicitly include paying a digital distributor or aggregator to get the record onto streaming and download services.

The condition that catches people out is the professional environment. You need at least one of a manager, publisher, concert producer, booking agent, venue or artist-development scheme behind you, and one of them has to write a letter of recommendation. Particular attention is paid to a structured development strategy covering communications and live work.

You file online through a Sacem account created as a creator or publisher, after the full release and within six months of it, inside the 2 February to 30 October 2026 window. One application per person per year. The dossier is submitted as PDFs: the downloadable form, a one-page biography, a statement of intent explaining what the money is for, the recommendation letter, and for physical releases a stamped SDRM authorisation. The process is in French throughout.
