World Exceptional Musicians Competition

An online, video-only competition open to pianists, string, wind and brass players, singers, composers, conductors and chamber groups from any country, with no upper age limit. Everything happens remotely: you upload a performance video, enter the link on the application form, and wait for a scored result. Nobody travels anywhere.

Entering costs money and nothing is paid out. Fees are £65 for a single category, £120 for two, £170 for three and £220 for four. Categories start at Prodigy for age seven and under, run through age bands to an open Professional class, and then branch into period categories, concerto, sonata, etude, own composition, duo, chamber, choir, orchestra, conducting, national music, film and game music and musical theatre. You may only enter one instrument per application — a second instrument means a second application and a second fee.

Results are points-based. 97–100 earns the Diamond Prize, 91–96 Platinum, 85–90 Gold, 80–84 Silver, and below 80 a participation certificate. Several people can win the same tier. The prizes themselves are digital: certificates, personalised posters, publication on the competition and organiser websites, with Diamond winners' posters carried on the site banner until the following season. Teachers of prize winners receive their own certificates and can join an affiliated teachers' league. Medals, paper certificates and award CDs are available to order at additional cost once results are published.

The current round closes on 20 October 2026, with results announced on 12 November. The organisers run four seasons a year, so missing one means waiting roughly three months.
