Open to lyricists of any age and nationality. Lyrics must be your own original work, and collaborative lyrics are accepted if all co-lyricists consent.
About this opportunity
A competition for song lyrics, run by Ise-Shima Art Company in Japan and judged mainly on effective use of language and quality of poetic expression. You submit your original lyrics, and a recording is optional. The dedicated entry form closes on 1 March 2027 at 23:59 GMT, with results scheduled for 5 May. Composers entering the Popular & Media competition can add the lyric entry to that form, but only until 31 January. Fees are non-refundable after payment, and no feedback is offered. Lyricists keep their copyright, and the organiser can use winning lyrics free of charge to promote the competition. The organiser may also decide not to award a prize, or change or divide a prize.
