Bom Dia / OASis Residency 2027 (São Luís, Odemira)
Offered by Cultivamos Cultura / OASis
Who can apply
International creators, artists and researchers from any field or discipline, individually or as a group of up to two. The call closes early at 100 applications. The local community mostly speaks Portuguese.
About this opportunity
Cultivamos Cultura, an artist-run space in rural Odemira on Portugal's Alentejo coast, is selecting one proposal for a funded residency of between seven days and a month in March 2027, as part of the wider OASis international network. It's open to any discipline, including music, and to individuals or pairs (a pair gets the same funding as a solo applicant). The resident gets a private room in a shared farmhouse, a studio, a 1,300 euro project fee, up to 1,600 euro for materials and production spent against invoices approved in advance, up to 500 euro toward travel, and a food per diem. In return, the resident produces work for an OASis group exhibition in 2027, engages with the local community — who mostly speak Portuguese — through something like a talk, walk or open studio, and allows the process to be documented and shared. Applying means submitting a project description of up to 500 words, a resource list, a short CV, a timeline, an originality declaration and five images for publicity, through an online form. A mixed panel of Cultivamos Cultura staff, OASis partners and one local community member judges proposals on originality, how realistic they are given the centre's resources, and fit with the call's aims — work that uses local or natural materials or has a strong ecological angle is explicitly favoured. The call closes 30 October 2026 at 18:00 CET, or sooner if 100 applications arrive first.
