Artist Trust — Fellowship Awards (2027)

This fellowship is a $10,000 unrestricted cash award — there's no requirement on how it's spent — given to practicing artists across all disciplines, including music, who live in Washington State. Around 15 awards are made each cycle, including several named fellowships. To qualify, you need to be a Washington resident both when you apply and when the award is paid, at least 18, and have an established practice with a track record of ongoing work; career stage itself isn't scored, only collected for demographics. You're ineligible if you've won this fellowship before (2019–2026 recipients, or anyone who's received it twice in a lifetime), won certain other named Artist Trust awards, hold another 2027 Artist Trust grant, or are a degree-seeking student. Teams with a documented history of collaborating can apply together but must contact Artist Trust first. Applications go through Submittable only — no email or mailed entries — and ask for up to ten work samples (an image, a minute of audio or video, or a manuscript page counts as one) plus a written statement on your vision, process, and the context behind your work. A multidisciplinary panel reviews for artistic excellence, background and experience, and continued commitment to the practice, applying a racial equity lens and weighing geographic and disciplinary spread; the board votes afterward. The deadline is 2 November 2026 at 11:59pm, with results announced the following March.
