About this opportunity

Trame sends ten French-speaking artists to Paris each year for a three-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts, with a studio-apartment in the Marais, a €1,000 monthly living allowance, and a separate €1,000 grant for research and production costs, paid back against receipts. Reasonable travel costs to Paris, visa fees and travel insurance are also covered, up to a set limit and again against proof of payment - though shipping equipment or work back home afterwards is on you. Music is explicitly one of the eligible disciplines alongside architecture, design and others, and there is no age limit, but you do need at least five years of professional practice and, importantly, the ability to write and express yourself in French: the whole programme runs in that language. Applications close 18 October 2026, with results announced in January 2027, for a residency running March to May 2027. You will need a CV of up to four pages, a project note of up to three pages, a portfolio of five to fifteen pages, and links to audio or video representing your work, submitted through an online form that requires a Google account and cannot be edited once sent. Groups can apply together but are funded and judged as a single project. Reviewers weigh your professional background, how original the proposed research is, why it specifically needs Paris, your working method, and any contacts or partnerships that back up the project.
