NUOVO IMAIE put €1,000,000 behind this round to get new records made and to pay the session musicians who play on them. It splits into two sections and you can only enter one: €860,000 for new original recordings — repertoire that is at least 50% original and previously unreleased, no covers — and €140,000 for records made entirely of public-domain works, meaning works whose last surviving author died before 1955.

The applicant is the label or production company, not the artist. You must be a company, a sole trader with a record-production business code, or an association whose statutes allow record production, formed at least three years ago, and have released at least 15 phonograms or 60 minutes of music over the past three years. The artist has to be a NUOVO IMAIE member or mandate holder and must not have released more than 30 phonograms. Projects need at least six tracks or 20 minutes, a physical run of at least 300 CDs or vinyl for sale, distribution on at least three digital platforms, and a press office, social media or digital strategy service. Compilations don't qualify.

Each successful project receives up to €7,000: up to €5,000 towards the production itself, plus up to €2,000 towards session players' fees, paid at between €200 and €500 per session for a maximum of ten days. It works as a reimbursement — you document costs first, and if your receipts come to less than the ceiling, the grant is reduced to match.

Applications go through the Portale Bandi art. 7 and everything is in Italian; one proposal per applicant. Assessors don't judge artistic merit at all: eligible proposals go into a draw held before a notary, and the draw produces the two rankings.
