About this opportunity

The Arts Council and DMARC — the Digital Media and Arts Research Centre at the University of Limerick — are running a residency for a mid-career or established digital artist, now in its second year after a 2025 pilot. DMARC's own work spans digital sound, code and physical computing, so the fit for a musician or sound artist working digitally is direct. The residency gives the artist a stimulating research environment and enough financial support to concentrate on their own practice: the published figure is 18,000 euro in total, made up of a 13,000 euro Arts Council bursary and a 5,000 euro contribution from the university. The call opened in mid-August 2026, and the organisers are explicit that late applications will not be accepted — it closes at 17:30 Irish time on 23 October 2026. Beyond the amount and deadline, the public pages don't spell out assessment criteria, how long the residency runs, or exactly what applying involves; both organisers point applicants to a full guidelines document to download and read before applying, and direct questions to DMARC's Giuseppe Torre by email. Anyone considering it should treat that guidelines document, not the summary pages, as the real source for eligibility and submission details.
