About this opportunity
The European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists pays festivals, not individual musicians, to host artists in cross-border residencies, though it's the artist's work and exposure the money is ultimately built around. A grant goes to a partnership of at least three festivals, one leading and two or more partners, all registered on FestivalFinder.eu and each with at least one previous edition behind them; the emerging artist they put forward is defined not by age but by being new to programmers and audiences with real potential for an international breakthrough, and can be an individual, collective, or ensemble working in music or several other disciplines. Two tracks are available: Discovery, 40 grants of €8,000 each, requiring a work-in-progress showing, a workshop with partner-festival programmers, and a short documentary; and Springboard, 10 grants of €15,000 each, which asks for presentations across at least three festivals, live masterclasses in at least three countries, and its own documentary, with seminar participation required in both tracks. Applicants need nationality or legal residence in one of the fund's eligible countries, a list that runs across most of Europe. The application needs a letter of intent from the artist, letters of intent from each partner festival, and a budget template. The deadline for this round is November 3, 2026.
