Burgbrand Open Air 2027 — Band Applications

Burgbrand Open Air is a one-stage metal festival held inside the ruins of Burgruine Brandenburg in Lauchröden, Thuringia, with its 2027 edition running 29 to 31 July. The booking call is aimed squarely at heavy, thrash, speed, stoner, doom, sludge and hardcore-punk bands, rather than a broad festival lineup, so fit with that sound matters more than general popularity.

There's no entry fee, panel process or online form: bands apply by emailing booking@burgbrand.de directly, and the organisers keep the window open until 30 November 2026. The site doesn't publish set lengths, stage times, how many slots are available, or what a confirmed act receives in pay or hospitality, so those are worth asking about directly when you write in.

One detail worth knowing if you're based nearby: the organisers say they try to include a handful of regional acts in the lineup each year and specifically welcome applications from bands based in Thuringia, which may be a genuine edge for local or nearby acts who fit the genre.
