About this opportunity

IRCAM's Forum Workshops, held in its Paris building on 24–26 March 2027, give members of the Ircam Forum community — composers, researchers, developers and sound artists — a chance to present their own work and tools to other practitioners. Five formats are open: a 20-minute conference talk, a 20-minute technology demo, an interactive installation shown in short visitor sessions across half a day, a 75-minute hands-on workshop, or a performance of up to 30 minutes. Encouraged themes include sound interaction, music and movement, sound design and processing, 3D sound immersion, generative improvised music, and computer-assisted composition. There's no participation fee — Ircam covers speakers' travel and accommodation — but presenters do need to register for the event itself once that link opens. Proposals go through an eight-step online form, and a submission only counts as complete once a confirmation email arrives, so it's worth checking your inbox rather than assuming the form submitted. Proposals are judged on three things: whether Ircam's studios and technical staff can accommodate the request, the quality of the proposal itself, and how it fits alongside everything else on the programme. The deadline is midnight Paris time on 29 October 2026, and proposals in English are accepted even though many Ircam-led sessions run in French.
