Creative Saskatchewan – Tour Support Grant

Money towards taking a Saskatchewan act on the road, whether that is around the province, across Canada or overseas. The tour has to be behind a release: either something out within the last 24 months, or due within six months of your final show, with evidence such as masters or a manufacturing order. That release must be either a full-length of at least six new studio recordings running 30 minutes or more, or a bundle of at least three recordings running at least nine minutes, commercially released and available on digital platforms in the territory you are touring.

Six live public performances must be confirmed when you apply, across more than one city and more than one venue, each at least 30 minutes long, played for a contracted fee, with tickets on sale to the general public. No more than five consecutive days off between shows. One hometown date is allowed, and multiple sets at the same festival count as one date.

The grant covers up to CAD 15,000 or 50% of the eligible cash budget, whichever is less, so you need to finance the rest elsewhere. Two grants per applicant per year. Eighty per cent is paid on approval and the remainder after the final report clears. Performer and crew fees are capped at $250 per performance date.

Applying means using the mandatory budget and travel itinerary templates — applications without them fail before assessment. Results take roughly ten weeks. Assessment criteria are published separately; in 2024-25, nine of 33 applications succeeded.
