Iberorquestas Juveniles 2026 – Galardón Joven Intérprete y Mejor Agrupación (Chile)
Offered by Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio (Chile) – Programa Iberorquestas Juveniles
Who can apply
Youth choirs and/or orchestras with 3+ years' track record at 1 November 2026; young musicians aged 12–22 at 1 November 2026 who are regular members of a Chilean ensemble.
About this opportunity
Chile's culture ministry runs this as the national round of a wider Ibero-American youth music programme, with two separate awards. Youth choirs or orchestras with at least three years of activity behind them by 1 November 2026 can enter for Best Ensemble, which pays €5,000 to the winner and €3,000 to the runner-up; judges weigh technical standard, social reach — particularly whether the group works in vulnerable or remote communities — diversity and creative innovation. Separately, individual musicians aged 12 to 22 who play regularly in a Chilean ensemble can enter the Young Performer award as an instrumentalist, a vocalist, or a player of a traditional indigenous instrument, for a prize of €1,000 per participating country. Ensembles need to show they're legally constituted as a non-profit corporation or foundation; individual applicants under 18 need parental authorisation alongside a CV and a motivation letter. Everyone applies by emailing a single PDF containing a representative performance video, plus the candidate or ensemble's identifying details in the body of the email. The guidelines don't go into more detail on how heavily each criterion is weighted relative to the others. Applications close at 3pm on 30 October 2026, with results due on 6 December 2026; the application itself is handled in Spanish.
