LABoral (Asturias) – II Convocatoria de Residencias Artísticas 2026 (incluye LABoratorio de Sonido)

One of the three residency places in this round is the LABoratorio de Sonido: a 122 m² room set up for musical work, with speakers, a mixing desk and microphones, for sound artists and musicians — emerging or established — developing contemporary sound and music pieces. The other two places are 30 m² studios. The spaces are available between 5 October 2026 and 30 January 2027, and you are expected to use them regularly; sustained unexplained absence can end the residency.

It is open only to individual creators or collectives from Asturias or resident there. The call and all application materials are in Spanish.

Be clear about the money: this is space and support, not a fee. There is no stipend and no accommodation. Each project has a maximum of €300 gross for production costs, and beneficiaries must be registered for IAE and issue a proper invoice — shop receipts are not accepted. What you do get alongside the room is assigned time in the fabLAB digital fabrication workshop with technical guidance, the specialist library, one group mentoring plus two individual sessions with national and local cultural-management professionals, and an Open Studios day in December. Afterwards LABoral may select projects for its exhibition, education or public programme and agrees a fee for that presentation.

You apply through an online form with a one-page biography, a portfolio and a project document of up to five pages each, and a two-minute video. A jury of two LABoral staff plus one external member weighs artistic and cultural interest, quality and coherence, originality, whether the project is actually feasible, and how it relates to LABoral's art, science, technology and society framing.
