Music BC – Travel Grants

This programme helps British Columbia-based musicians and the companies that support them cover the cost of getting to a show. It pays toward showcase appearances, touring runs, and other business travel, at home and abroad, rather than funding recording or production. Eligible applicants are BC-based artists and music companies; the artist stream and the business stream use separate online forms and separate guidelines, so check which one fits before applying.

Support is capped and partial, not a blank cheque. Based on the most recently published figures, which haven't yet been reconfirmed for the 2026/27 cycle, showcase trips can receive up to CAD $2,500 for domestic travel or $5,000 international, while tours — defined as a minimum of seven paid shows — can receive up to $5,000 domestic or $7,500 international. No single artist or company can draw more than $15,000 combined in a year, and the grant covers at most 75% of eligible expenses, so the rest comes from your own pocket or other funding.

There are two application windows each year. For activity between October 2026 and March 2027, apply by January 8, 2027, 5pm PST; for activity from April through September 2027, the window runs March 4 to May 7, 2027. Applications arriving outside those dates aren't considered, and the full guidelines, with a complete list of what counts as eligible travel, are published separately for each stream.
