Who can apply
CATEGORIA A, MUSICA: artists, bands, groups, collectives and other musical formations FROM THE STATE OF GOIAS. Each selected proponent plays one show of at least 50 minutes, performing original repertoire or work that evidences their track record in music. Performances happen on the ground floor of the Petrobras Futuros centre in Rio de Janeiro between 10 May and 30 July 2027, on Fridays starting at 19:00. All genres and formations are welcome, from traditional and popular to contemporary and experimental, but selection will PRIORITISE contemporary and experimental projects that fuse styles and belong to the independent music circuit of Goias. A contrapartida (community give-back) is compulsory and must be described in the Contrapartida field of the form: leaving it out disqualifies the proposal. Applications go through the ABA ANEXO of the Sistema BARU, Versao PNAB, with the planned repertoire among the required documents. Registration closes 29 October 2026.
About this opportunity
This is a performance commission, not a project grant: four musicians or bands based in the Brazilian state of Goiás will each be paid R$50,000 to play one show of at least 50 minutes at the Petrobras Futuros arts centre in Rio de Janeiro, on Fridays between May and July 2027. Three slots are open competition and one is reserved for a Black (preta or parda) applicant. Repertoire should be original or otherwise demonstrate your own musical trajectory, and the venue leans toward contemporary, experimental, and genre-fusing work from Goiás''s independent circuit, though all styles can apply. Applying means assembling a single PDF under 40MB through the state''s Sistema BARU platform (the form itself is in Portuguese): your planned setlist with full lyrics, a recording or link to a past performance, a technical sheet and artistic CV, and documented proof of your track record — press clippings, posters, programmes, or contracts, not undated photos or social-media screenshots. One condition is easy to miss and costly to skip: every selected artist must agree, in the application form itself, to give a free talk about the experience for the state culture secretariat within a year of their show, and leaving that field blank disqualifies the proposal outright. Your budget should only cover what the venue doesn''t already supply, like extra crew, transport, or lodging.
