About this opportunity
SPOT FLUX runs two separate calls under one deadline, and which one fits you depends on what you are bringing. If you are a soloist, ensemble or group with new Danish music, you can apply for a 30-40 minute showcase concert at Musikhuset Aarhus's Chamber Music Hall in May 2027 - the programme needs to be mostly new work. If you make sound art instead, the call is only for work that already exists: finished pieces for speakers, music films, or performances suited to an open café-style stage, not new ideas you would develop afterward. Either way, you or your work needs a genuine connection to Denmark. Selected musicians are paid at the Danish Musicians' Union standard performance rate, and separate transport support - within Denmark or internationally - can be requested through Art Music Denmark, though accommodation, personal travel, rehearsals and production costs are not covered by the festival itself. Sound art applicants need to submit a full budget covering every cost involved, including any rights clearances, and should know that very large budget requests are less likely to get through simply because the pool of funding is limited. Apply online by 5 November 2026 at 2pm; two separate juries review the two categories, and every applicant hears back by January 2027. They are judging on artistic quality, how well the work fits SPOT's industry programme and production setup, and its potential to travel internationally afterward.
