About this opportunity
If you're putting on something in Norway that puts Norwegian music in front of the international industry, this covers part of the cost of getting the international people there. Two categories. The first is media and expert visits: international press, media and industry figures coming to a festival, showcase or industry gathering where they meet Norwegian companies and hear Norwegian music. The second is songwriting camps pairing Norwegian and international writers and producers writing for third parties, with international cuts as the goal — organisers who have run camps before have to report what came of them and how the material was followed up.
Applicants are the businesses organising and running the event. You must be a Norwegian citizen or resident and registered in the Norwegian business register. Trade organisations, associations, public agencies, and music or education institutions with substantial public operating support are all excluded.
The grant is deliberately partial: up to 50% of the international participants' travel and accommodation, plus up to 15% administration costs. Nothing is fully funded, and your own investment has to appear as income in the budget alongside any other grants you've secured.
Deadlines are 1 March, 1 June, 1 September and 1 December at 23:59, with a decision roughly three to four weeks later. You apply through Music Norway's portal with concrete plans and objectives, a list of the international participants and what each is there to do, a budget in kroner itemising travel and accommodation, and an attached overview of Norwegian and international participants. An external panel weighs the concreteness of the plans, the objectives, the potential for new income, and your experience and past results. A final report with accounts is due within four months of the event, and you can't apply again until it's in.
