About this opportunity

This is money for paying the people on stage. FFUK supports concerts and tours, in Norway and abroad, and the funds are earmarked for performance fees to the professional musicians and singers taking part. You can add a request covering fees for the final full-band rehearsals before the run, but rehearsal costs alone are not supported. The scheme was previously called Prosjektstotte musikk and is aimed mainly at freelancers and independent ensembles.

Performers must live in Norway - the fund will not pay fees to anyone resident abroad - and must be professional, meaning performing is their actual job rather than something alongside study. Students still in education are generally not counted. Sound and lighting technicians do not qualify as performing artists. The application can be submitted by the musicians themselves or by a label, manager or promoter on their behalf, but a performer's name and email must be given, and if the working relationship ends the funding follows the performers.

Amounts vary and full funding is never given: you have to show other income. Applications go through the fund's online portal and, since a recent tightening of the rules, everything must be in Norwegian - project description, CVs and budget, with the budget in kroner. Submissions partly in English, Danish or Swedish are rejected. You attach a CV for every performer you are asking fees for, a project description covering repertoire, line-up, venues and what you hope the concerts will achieve, and an itemised budget breaking fees down by performer, rate and number of shows. Rounds are competitive: in the August 2026 round the board funded 184 of 661 applications.
