Canarias – Premios Canarios de la Música (convocatoria anual)

The annual awards for music made in the Canary Islands, run by Canarias Radio with an association of local industry professionals. There is no prize money — what you get is recognition, regional broadcast attention and a place at the gala, held this year at the Teatro Leal in La Laguna on 2 December 2026.

Fifteen categories cover song of the year, best album in pop, rock, jazz, urban and roots music, breakthrough artist, design, music video, recording studio, music programming, sound engineer, broadcasting work, classical music, and a lifetime honour award. You enter yourself in categories one to fourteen; association members may also nominate others, and the organisers can add work they think deserves to be there.

Eligibility hangs on the recording. It must be an original single, EP or album commercially released between 1 January and 31 December 2025, by an island label or by an artist who is Canarian or resident in the Canaries — residents must certify it. Compilations, reissues and purely promotional physical discs do not count, and neither do recordings available only on user-upload platforms such as YouTube, Bandcamp or SoundCloud. Each release may be entered in one category only, and categories with fewer than three candidates are declared vacant.

Registration is online, open 26 August to 26 September 2026, with a streaming link to the work; physical copies can be posted if the recording is not on a major platform. Voting is done by a jury of previous winners and recognised Canarian music professionals. Entering also grants the organisers permission to use your audio, video and images for promotion.
