HARPA Nordic Film Composers Award 2026 – Submit score (deadline 1 Sep)

An award rather than a grant, and one you enter with work already finished. Nordic Film Music Days runs the HARPA award to spotlight film and television scoring across the Nordic countries: one score from each country is nominated, presented at the festival, and the film or series it belongs to is screened there. Nominated composers are invited to attend, present their work and meet others in the industry — the value here is exposure and contacts rather than a fee.

Eligibility is regional and institutional. You need to be working in a Nordic country and be a member of a national Nordic collecting society, such as STEF in Iceland. The submission must be a score for a narrative feature, documentary or TV series, and must run at least 50 minutes, so this is complete scores rather than cues or single tracks. The call also sets a release window for the film or series, with the IMDb release date treated as definitive; check the current call before submitting, as the window quoted in the published announcement appears to carry over from an earlier cycle.

Submitting is light: a Google form asking for your name and contact details, your collecting society membership number, a link to a screener with English subtitles, and a link to the IMDb page. The deadline is 1 September, and the winner is announced at the HARPA ceremony in February.
