Ibermúsicas – Concurso "Canción para las Infancias"

A songwriting competition rather than a grant. You write one unpublished song for children with a co-writer from another Ibermusicas member country, and if it wins you split a cash prize. Any musical style is allowed. Lyrics may be in Spanish, Portuguese or a native language of the region — Nahuatl, Guarani, Quechua, Aymara, Mirandese — with a Spanish or Portuguese translation supplied for the jury. The 2026 edition gives preference to songs dealing with ecology and the environment.

The person submitting must be a national or certified resident of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay or Portugal; the co-writer can come from any member country. One entry each, past winners of this competition cannot re-enter, and both writers need a free profile in the Ibermusicas catalogue.

One song is awarded per participating country: USD 2,000, divided as USD 1,000 to each writer, or EUR 2,000 for Portugal, paid to whoever filed the entry. Winning songs may appear on a non-commercial promotional album; the copyright stays with the writers.

You submit online — an MP3 demo or finished mix, printed lyrics signed under both pseudonyms, proof of copyright registration, and a handwritten signed statement that the song has never been performed publicly or won a prize. Judging is blind: pseudonyms only, and anything revealing your identity disqualifies the entry. National juries weigh the lyric, the music, how well the two sit together, and originality; arrangement and instrumentation are explicitly disregarded. Entries close 1 October 2026, results 27 November. The guidelines and form are in Spanish.
