Ibermúsicas – Mid Atlantic Arts (USA) Call

A joint call from Ibermusicas and Mid Atlantic Arts to get Ibero-American artists onto US stages between 1 July 2027 and 31 December 2028. It targets the thing that usually kills a US tour: work visas. Ibermusicas covers visa costs — petition fees, legal or technical assistance, courier costs — up to USD 5,000, or EUR 5,000 for applications from Spain and Portugal, and may fund only part of what you ask for. Mid Atlantic Arts separately subsidises up to half of your performance fee, capped at USD 16,500 per project, but that money is paid to the US presenters rather than to you.

You do not apply as an artist. Applications come from production companies, booking and management agencies, managers, producers or promoters in Ibermusicas member countries. The artists must be nationals or certified residents of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru or Portugal; in a group, 70 per cent must be linked to the applying country. You also need a US or Canadian co-producer under contract and at least two invitation letters from nonprofit or public presenters in different Mid-Atlantic jurisdictions. Artists already supported by Mid Atlantic Arts are excluded.

The paperwork is heavy: catalogue profiles for everyone involved, EPK, visa budget, financing strategy, work plan and passenger details. Scoring is published — artistic impact and sustainability 50 per cent, career trajectory 20, relevance of the host venues 20, and four affirmative-action criteria at 2.5 each. Closes 1 October 2026 at 11:59pm local time. Guidelines exist in Spanish and English.
