Kulturdirektoratet – Fond for lyd og bilde: Markedsføring
Offered by Kulturdirektoratet
Who can apply
Creators, performing artists and producers (individuals or organisations) resident and mainly active in the EEA; not amateur activity or applicants with annual public operating support over NOK 1,000,000.
About this opportunity
This is money for getting a finished record, show or film heard and seen, not for making it. Norway's Fond for lyd og bilde supports marketing work on completed projects in music, performing arts and film: a campaign around a release, a push into a new market, work that widens distribution and reaches a bigger audience. The product must already be finished, professionally produced and intended for public release. Seminars, study trips, education, buying or running equipment, and anything carried out before the deadline are all excluded.
Creators, performing artists and producers can apply, as individuals or as companies, and representatives can apply on their behalf. You must live and mainly work in the EEA. Amateur activity does not qualify, nor does any applicant receiving more than NOK 1,000,000 a year in public operating support. Promoters and venues are normally refused unless they had an active role in creating the work and hold rights in it.
Applications go through the directorate's portal, in Norwegian; the form usually opens a month before the deadline. You submit a project description covering aims, target audience and strategy, a budget and financing plan, a timeline, and proof the product is finished. The fund rarely covers a project in full, so the budget should show the grant as one part of wider financing.
An expert committee assesses applications against each other, and the board decides. They weigh clear and realistic goals, a defined audience, the strategy itself, a credible budget, distribution, and the likely gain in visibility. Geographic and genre spread across the round is also taken into account.
