If you put on concerts in Norway or Sápmi and carry the financial risk for them, this is the Arts Council scheme that helps cover the cost. It funds the expenses of staging public concerts, and concert series running up to three years, in any genre. What it will not pay for: tours, equipment purchases, closed or one-off events, concerts with non-professional performers, or anything already finished before the deadline. Festivals and single concerts belong elsewhere, and applying for them here needs a specific argument.

Anyone can apply — individuals, organisations, institutions, companies — as long as you plan, promote and run the concerts yourself. Cross-border work in Sápmi requires a Norwegian organisation or personal number. Bodies already receiving fixed annual state funding rarely get anything here.

There are two forms: project support, and operating support for an organisation or a named recurring activity with its own budget. Operating support can only be applied for at the September deadline. There is no set amount; the committee decides case by case, and the Council explicitly does not fully fund anything, so you need other money in the budget. Awards of NOK 500,000 or more must be audited.

You apply through the grant portal with a programme or draft programme, concert numbers, dates and a short history. Assessors weigh artistic quality, your role in the field, financial solidity, whether performers are paid at recommended rates, local co-financing, environmental awareness and local roots.
