About this opportunity
Funding to put work from Canada in front of audiences elsewhere: a domestic tour, dates across the border, or an international run. It covers the circulation or touring of artists, exhibitions and artistic works to one or more destinations, along with activity tied to artistic exchange and networking. It sits inside Arts Across Canada and Abroad, the programme introduced in 2025 that merged the old Arts Across Canada and Arts Abroad streams.
Artists and arts workers, artistic groups and collectives, arts and presenting organisations, First Nations, Inuit and Metis artists, groups and not-for-profits, and foreign festivals, biennales and book fairs can all apply, and organisations already receiving core grants are not excluded. Two rules catch people out. Presenting your own artists at your own venue, festival or event in Canada belongs to the Public Outreach component instead. And a tour abroad needs a financial contribution from a foreign presenter, partner or host — self-presented projects are ineligible outside Canada.
Up to CAD 200,000 per application, capped at half of eligible costs, so you are finding the other half elsewhere. A maximum of CAD 400,000 a year, and six applications per calendar year. Eligible costs run wide: artist fees, honoraria for Elders and Knowledge Keepers, project management, touring production, accommodation and per diems, transport and freight, visas and travel insurance, promotion, safety costs and dependent care.
Applications go through the Council's client portal by 11:59pm Eastern on the deadline — next 7 October 2026 — with results usually about five months later. The assessment criteria are not spelled out on the current portal page, so read the downloadable funding-opportunity preview first.
