JazzDanmark – International Transport Funding (Tilskud til international transport)

If you play jazz or something adjacent and the gig is abroad, this scheme exists to cover the getting there. JazzDanmark pays towards transport from Denmark to another country, from abroad into Denmark, and between distant points overseas — flights, van hire, ferries, or your own car at the Danish state rate for driving abroad, DKK 2.23 per kilometre. It will not pay for accommodation, per diems, artist fees, PR, studio costs, or any travel inside Denmark.

You need to be based in Denmark, or have activity substantially rooted there, and you must hold a NemKonto, since that is the only account the money can be paid into. Performers, composers, promoters, agents and managers can all apply. One catch worth knowing early: you may only approach one of the four Danish genre organisations for a given project. Send the same tour to JazzDanmark and to ROSA, Tempi or Art Music Denmark and all of them are rejected administratively.

Applications go through the GrantOne portal and must be submitted before the project starts. There are four deadlines a year, each at 23:59, and you hear back in writing within four weeks. The committee weighs artistic quality, what the trip does for your development or for the Danish scene, and whether the budget is realistic — tours are prioritised over single concerts. Payment comes after the tour, against a report with receipts, adjusted to what you actually spent.
