Read the eligibility line first, because it catches people out: this money does not go to Spanish musicians. It goes to foreign cultural institutions that programme them. If a festival, venue or promoter outside Spain wants to book a Spanish or Spain-resident artist, that organisation is the one who applies to AC/E for help covering the cost of getting them there.

For the music and sound creation strand the covered expenses are narrow — travel, accommodation, meals and local transport. Artist fees, production and equipment are not on the list. An organisation can request up to €15,000 per event and area, with a ceiling of €5,000 per participant or group, and must commit to covering at least half the proposal's budget itself. Applicants must be legally constituted abroad and able to issue invoices; individuals cannot apply, and purely academic conferences are excluded.

Applications are submitted through AC/E's online platform in Spanish or English, with the artist's CV, a dossier on the work to be presented, and proof of the applicant's legal status and invoicing capacity. Letters of support from Spanish embassies or Cervantes institutes are optional and worth a point.

Scoring runs to 100 points across the applicant's standing, the artist's track record, the quality of the event and the coherence of the budget. Fifty points is the floor, and priority countries and first-time artists gain ground.
