About this opportunity
A working stipend for freelance performers who want a block of time to develop their own artistry rather than deliver a project. FFUK asks you to set a goal — a skill to build, an area to go deeper into — and explain how you'll get there. It favours activity that isn't itself income-generating and that you couldn't otherwise afford to prioritise. Creative work is out of scope: composing, production, choreography, writing scripts, film projects. Plenty of performers also create, but this application should stay on the performing side of your practice.
Up to 80 stipends of NOK 100,000 are awarded in 2026. The money must be used between 1 October 2026 and 1 November 2027, and the activity should add up to roughly three months' work, which you can spread across that window. It counts as taxable income — FFUK withholds tax when paying out, at 50% if you have no tax card — and it arrives in two halves, one when the work starts and one when it's finished.
You must have worked professionally as a performer for the past three years and be based in Norway, with most of your performing work happening there. Excluded: anyone who received the 2025 stipend, students, people whose main job is something else, teachers, musicians in permanent posts above 50%, and mainly creative artists. Applying means FFUK's online form plus two attachments — a CV proving three years of professional activity, since a short bio won't do, and a one-page description of what you'd use the stipend for.
