Aarhus Kommune – Musikpuljen

Musikpuljen is Aarhus Municipality's fund for raising the quality and professionalism of the local music scene. It covers music projects at any stage, from early concept work through production and delivery, professional initiatives that push the city's musical life forward, programs built to develop emerging talent, and year-long music and activity programs. It won't pay for CD or vinyl pressing runs meant for sale, projects where music is incidental rather than central, events during Aarhus Festuge, or political or religious events. Applicants can be individuals, groups, associations, or institutions based in Aarhus Municipality; organizations that already receive the city's standing operating grants need to explain how their project goes beyond their normal day-to-day work. The guidelines don't publish a typical or maximum award figure, only that grants above 100,000 kroner require an auditor's statement and above 250,000 kroner require fully audited accounts, which gives a rough sense of scale. You apply through an online portal that requires MitID login, with a sample application available on the site for reference. The Music Council reviews proposals on artistic quality and vision, contribution to Aarhus's music scene or to talent development, how realistic the project is, and the plan for reaching an audience. The next deadline is November 2, 2026 at noon.
