About this opportunity

This is the Frederiksberg music committee's small project pot, and it pays for music actually happening in Frederiksberg — a concert, a series, a festival programme — rather than for work you make at home. It can also top up a performance fee already part-funded by Statens Kunstfond. Awards usually land between DKK 5,000 and 10,000.

Know what it won't cover: instruments, sheet music, PA and other equipment, and the production, promotion or release of albums, demos, films or books. Running costs are out, charity fundraisers are out, and the committee will normally not pay the applicant's own fee. It backs extraordinary activity, not ongoing operation.

No residency or career-stage test is published, but the conditions do the filtering. The project must take place in Frederiksberg, be non-profit (any surplus is deducted from the grant), normally be open to the public and listed on kultunaut.dk, credit the municipality in your marketing, and set aside around 4% of tickets free for disadvantaged residents at paid events. You are expected to bring other funding, you can draw on only one of the committee's pools per project, and musicians must be paid at least the Danish minimum rate.

You apply through the municipality's online form, in Danish, using MitID. Four deadlines a year — in 2026: 16 February, 1 May, 1 September and 1 November. The committee meets roughly a month after each, and your event must still be in the future when it does, so apply early. Proposals are judged against the municipality's culture and leisure policy and its music strategy.
