City of Tampere – Kulttuurin kerta-avustus (one-off cultural grant)

This fund covers the City of Tampere's small grants toward one-off public events and cultural projects — concerts, festivals, workshops, camps and similar activities — plus written local histories from long-established cultural associations. Money can go toward materials, venue hire, marketing and fees, though it never covers catering, recordings, audiovisual productions or awards, and an organisation already receiving an annual operating grant from the city is only eligible if the project clearly sits outside its usual programme.

Finnish-registered associations and non-profits can apply, as can individual artists, producers and informal working groups, provided the applicant (or, for a group, its named contact) is a Finnish citizen with a personal bank account to receive the payment. Normally one grant per applicant per year.

Grants average around €700 and only ever cover part of a budget — applicants must show other income or in-kind support, with volunteer time counted at €10 an hour. Projects inside Tampere's Culture District can draw on a separate yearly pot of up to €3,000 each, with applications accepted until 30 September 2027.

There is no fixed annual deadline: apply online at least 14 days before the event, ideally around six months ahead, with a simple income-and-expenditure budget and an audience estimate. Applications are reviewed monthly. Assessors weigh how much the project adds to Tampere's cultural offering, its originality and artistic quality, feasibility, expected audience size, and accessibility.
