About this opportunity
Koda''s Værkstøtte exists for Danish music that won''t necessarily sell well but still deserves to be heard — work the fund describes as adding diversity, challenging convention, or showing real artistic courage. It''s only open to Koda members: composers, lyricists, and publishers who hold rights to a specific work already on their official Koda work list, tied to one particular performance of it, in Denmark or elsewhere, and the piece has to have premiered within the last decade — arrangements of public-domain material don''t qualify. Each rights holder can apply for up to three works a year, a single work can be supported once a year and no more than three times over five years, and the total any one person can receive in a year is capped at 50,000 DKK; recent rounds have typically paid out anywhere from a few hundred DKK up to 13,000 DKK per application, scaled to the piece''s length, its artistic ambition, and how clearly that''s been argued. Applications go through Koda''s own portal, in Danish, in a window running from December into a 1 February deadline, and are judged by Koda''s five-member Music Professional Committee. There''s no separate application form beyond describing the work and the performance itself; payment then goes automatically to whichever Koda members hold a share in it.
