About this opportunity
This covers travel to meetings abroad: sitting down with a promoter, label, publisher, agent or other international contact who could turn into a booking or a deal, and attending industry gatherings and conferences overseas. It does not cover courses, study trips, competitions, production or recording, internal company meetings, fees, per diems, or travel within the country you live in. Events where Music Norway already runs a stand or networking programme are excluded too.
Performers, artists, composers, songwriters and lyricists can apply, as can Norwegian music companies holding contracted representation or rights for them. You must be a Norwegian citizen or resident in Norway and registered in the Foretaksregisteret, and you are expected to show documented international demand and a strategy for building abroad. Trade bodies, associations, public agencies and heavily state-funded education institutions cannot apply. One representative per application, and a maximum of two grants for the same event per person within four years.
The scheme reimburses up to 50 per cent of travel, accommodation and delegate fees, with requests between NOK 5,000 and 20,000, so at least half is on you. The annual pot is NOK 800,000 across twelve rounds. Deadlines fall on the 15th of every month at 14:00, with answers roughly two to four weeks later. Trips that end before the deadline are not eligible.
You apply through the portal with a project description, who you are meeting and why, a budget in kroner, and written confirmation of your meetings gathered into a single PDF. An external panel weighs how concrete the plans are, your partners, evidence of demand and momentum, revenue potential and past results. The pages and forms are in Norwegian.
