Koda Kultur – Project Grant (Projektpuljen)

This is the Koda Kultur pool for the big stuff, and it is not for individual artists. Applications come from organisations, associations, festivals, institutions and other sizeable entities, and the project has to be substantial — a festival, a large event, a campaign — focused on creating and spreading new music, in Denmark or abroad. The committee needs to be able to see that it will make a real contribution, and that the effect of any grant is clear from the outset.

No ceiling is published. Support usually arrives as a straightforward subsidy, but it can instead take the form of a deficit guarantee, meaning a promise to cover losses rather than cash up front. You can apply once per project per calendar year, and agreements can run up to three years with annual follow-ups. Full accounts documenting every expense are due within a year of the award, and funded projects must credit Koda Kultur and carry its logo.

The application asks for contact details and your organisation's CVR number, a project description explaining how you meet the pool's requirements and what effect you expect, a short introduction to you and any partners, a budget including other grants applied for or received along with an overall funding plan, and a schedule. Applicants are sometimes invited to present to the committee. Five members — four appointed by Koda's board plus one external — decide, and replies take about a month. Contacting a committee member directly can get your application rejected outright.
