Concurso Sevilla Musica Joven 2026

Seville City Council's competition for young musicians from the city, run by its youth service. There are five categories — classical, flamenco, pop-rock, urban music and electronic — and you can enter only one, though the juries reserve the right to move an entry into a different category if the track doesn't fit where it was placed, or to exclude it if it fits none of them. Soloists and groups aged roughly 16 to 30 can take part.

The total prize budget is €11,000, split across the five categories: €1,200 for first place, €600 for second and €400 for third in each. First-prize winners also have their tracks recorded, mixed, mastered and produced audiovisually, which for most entrants is worth considerably more than the cash.

Applications, individual or as a group, go in through the council's electronic register or in person at a municipal registry office; the 2026 deadline was extended to 27 August. It runs formally as a competitive grant procedure under Spanish public-subsidy law, so the paperwork is heavier than a typical band competition.

The published rules set out the aims — supporting and promoting young soloists and groups, encouraging musical creation, and giving young artists' work visibility — rather than a scored assessment grid, which leaves the expert juries appointed for each category wide discretion.
