Koda Kultur – Writing Camp-pool (Writing Camp-puljen)

Money for running songwriting camps, not for attending them. Koda Kultur's Writing Camp pool supports professional camps organised by Koda members, with the stated aim of building networks both inside Denmark and internationally.

Read the eligibility carefully, because this one catches songwriters out. The pool is open to authors and music publishers who are Koda members, plus external collaborators, and it funds in-house camps and external camps with other participants where you are hosting. It does not support individual songwriters travelling out to camps or taking part in local camps on their own. Your application must state whether the camp is aimed at specific artists or at a catalogue, and who is hosting.

All camp-related costs can be applied for — travel, accommodation, studio rent and so on — with one exception: catering is not covered.

You submit a project description of one page or less, a budget including income and any other funders approached, and a presentation of the publisher applying, naming the most important writers associated with it. The pool runs twice a year, in late January and late August, and you hear back roughly a month after the deadline. A committee drawn from DPA and Musikforlaeggerne assesses applications, and its members are named on the site.

One Koda-wide rule: you cannot take funding for the same project phase from more than one Koda Kultur pool.
